Ronald Wolf, 91

Ronald J. Wolf, 91, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. The Catholic Daughters Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home. www.kahlerfh.com

Ronald Wolf, son of Martin and Lillian Wolf was born June 19, 1928 in Ramona, SD. He attended grade school in Nunda, SD and attended High School in Winfred. After his schooling, Ron enlisted in the Howard National Guard and served in Alaska, during the Korean War with the 147th Field Artillery Service Battery. After he was honorably discharged, he made his home in Winfred, SD working on the family farm and working construction.

He was united in marriage with Donna Ptak on July 11, 1964 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Tyndall, SD. They originally made their home in Flandreau, SD, and moved to Dell Rapids, SD in 1974. Ronald was employed with East River Electric and then Wyland Construction until 2003 when he retired.

Faith and family were very important to Ron. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and playing pool with friends.

He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the American Legion in Dell Rapids, SD.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 55 years, Donna (Ptak) Wolf. His children: Jeanne (Bill) Schneider, Rapid City, SD, Kevin (Sari) Wolf, Gillette, WY, Sister Maria Clemens Wolf, O.P., Nashville, TN, Allen (Dawn) Wolf, Worthing, SD, and Mick Wolf, of Gillette, WY. Ten grandchildren, Angie (Quinn Doheny), Zach, Natasha (Ashton Showalter), Deva Hunter, Trinity, Katy, Benjamin, Matthew, Garrett, and Halle Sue (Aaron Meek), and two great grandchildren, Theo and Arlo. Brothers: Martin (Lefty) Darlene, Leo (Delda), Gary (Bonnie), sisters, Mary Poncelet, Shirleen Berkelo, and Grace (Tom)Wolf and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ambrose, Bill, and Tom; Sisters Betty Prill, Barb Goodspeed, Maureen Williams; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Wolf, and Becky Wolf; brothers-in-law, Maurice Williams, Ralph Poncelet and Bill Goodspeed.
