Jacqueline “Jackie” Kay (Geraets) Tool, 73, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls to a place without pain. Her Memorial Mass began at 10:30am on Friday, March 17, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Visitation with the family present was from 5-7pm. on Thursday, March 16, at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home in Dell Rapids. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 7pm.
Jackie was born in Sioux Falls at Avera McKennan Hospital on March 26, 1949 to Raymond and Rosemary Geraets. She was raised and educated in Dell Rapids. She attended St. Mary School. She attended college for a year and then spent a year in South Africa. When she returned to the United States she moved to Minneapolis and was employed as an accountant.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She always found comfort in her faith and relationship with God .
She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
She met and married Skip and began a lifelong marriage and friendship on December 19, 1970. No matter where they lived, Jackie provided a warm and loving home. She will be missed
Jackie is survived by her husband, Skip; her daughter, Courtney Tool; her grandson, Aric Madetzke; granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Augustine; her brothers, Mark (Darlene)Geraets and Doug (Nancy) Geraets; her aunt, Carolyn Drew (Schwebach) and Barb Ahlers-Vince and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
